The Rotary Club of Ligonier gratefully acknowledges the tremendous support of the pageant by the business community in the valley, the sponsors, the school, the Rolling Rock Club for the staging. Rachael’s of Ligonier for the flowers, Clark’s Jewelers for jewelery, Karat Shoppe of Ligonier for the tiaras and John M Clark for Jewelry gift.

Just before Fort Ligonier Days the town is buzzing with excitement as the master of ceremonies will be stepping on to the stage of the Ligonier Valley High School Auditorium to begin introducing the contestants for the title of Miss Ligonier.

This Ligonier tradition began in 1962 when Vicki Sweeney was crowned for the first time. It has evolved over the years, and today, the Miss Ligonier Scholarship Pageant is sponsored by the Ligonier Rotary Charitable Foundation, providing one of many scholarships available to students in our valley. Junior and senior high school students who reside in the Ligonier Valley are eligible to participate in the annual pageant. Contestants are judged on a personal interview, academic achievement, community and school service, poise, demeanor and appearance.

With the support of the local merchants the students have to approach a local business to sponsor them in this event. We have had the best support of this event such as Jewelry compliments of John M. Clark, Goldsmith, Tiaras compliments of The Karat Shoppe of Ligonier, Flowers compliments of Rachel’s Ligonier Floral and Stage Decorations compliments of Rolling Rock Club.
